Your bank might lock out your card for suspicious activity and you get some DX cell phone QSOs to India for an hour to unlock it. View Quote Since you were using WSJT-X then let WSJT-X help you figure out the date and time. Click [File] on the WSJT-X menu and select "Open Log Directory" to open a File Explorer listing of the log directory. There you will find a couple of files that should help. First is WSJT.LOG which is a log of every contact you have made with WSJT-X. It's a text file so right-click it and select [Edit] then look for the date and time from your log and make sure the contact is there. If not you can search for the call sign. Worst case there is a file named ALL.TXT that pretty much contains everything that WSJT-X has HEARD when it was running. It will be a big file but it's a text file so you can open it in an editor like Notepad. Search for the DATE first, it's at the beginning of each line and has the format YYMMDD (i.e. 240106 is 01/06/2024) followed by the time in UTC HHMMSS. Once you find the day (it will be a big file!) start looking for your call sign. Hope this helps. I've found several missing paper logbook entries using those two files, they do come in handy. There is an option somewhere to divide ALL.TXT based on day, month, or year (I think) but naturally I couldn't find it when I looked. I have mine split up by month and it makes them a lot easier to search. |

Day two of trying to get DX logs confirmed.
I am guessing there is no way to get a direct QSL exchange right now with Belarus? His profile says direct only but it does not seem like USPS is doing business with Belarus right now. No clue how to get at least one of my Slovak Republic QSOs confirmed. Neither dude has any QRZ profile, but has over 100,000 lookups. No EQSL. No LOTW confirmation. Maybe just mail a QSL card with $5/SAE and hope for the best. |

View Quote Coupled with reasonably fast QSL and pretty good operators. It should be noted also that this was NOT some big 'DX Group' of some sort, but something put together by a Washington amateur radio club and by all appearances were true hams that were trying to serve the ham community as opposed to setting some sort of stupid record of some sort. From a QSL standpoint they chose M0OXO as a manager who is one of the better ones out there and the cards came out fairly fast (By DXpedition standards) |

CB0ZEW hit the airwaves about 45 minutes ago from Juan Fernandez Islands on 24.911 F/H. Luckily, I was #37 in their log for an ATNO, according to their live log.
They plan to do various modes under the callsigns CB0ZEW. CB0ZA, and CB0ZW. |

Got to be the weakest signals of all the recent DXEs. 15m FT8 they're consistently -19 to me and not much better to most. CB0ZA is about a 33 currently on 28.485. Internal preamp2 brings them up OK. |

That, and the fact they're only listening 5 up and not a wider spread, tells me that very few stations can hear them. He's calling CQ a lot right now. |

I just got CB0ZEW on 15m FT8. When I first started sending to them PSKreporter says I was +4 to them. When they finally called on me it was -02. I sent back -18.
They're giving US stations +signals while consistently getting back -15 or worse. Some cycles I'm still not hearing them at all. |

View Quote The mass-suicide at Jonestown was about 7 months after my QSO with WB6MID so it was relatively fresh in my mind. I remember that after I heard about it I wondered whether he was one of those who committed suicide and I watched QST for several months until I finally saw him listed as a Silent Key. Then, a month of so later, I got his QSL through the bureau. It's one thing when something like that happens but it's something else when someone you have met, even for only for a few minutes over ham radio, is involved.
