I'll be in my shack in 10 minutes. Had to spend some time with my wife.
If anyone wants to find a clear frequency on 40m, post here.

There are a few stations on 7.190. Nothing heard on 192. I'll try to call CQ from this end. I'm the **PAL station.

HAH.....Got the radio fired up. Tuned the freq. Just as I was getting ready to fine tune the antenna tuner, everything went black. PS took a dump. Lexon 53A  40-180. Manually cycling power turns it on for a few seconds, then voltage drops and it shuts off.

Guess I'm not joining the net tonight. :-D

It was good talking to you, Gyprat.  I was the **5zjf station.  I had too stay brief, as I had a very strong nearby signal (7.194) and didn't want to interfere with that qso.  You have a great signal here.  I'm using an FT-817nd along with a Tokyo Hy-Power HL-50B.  Antenna is a 120 foot doublet fed with window line.  Thanks for the QSO!

Just curious, who are you referring to?  I had someone from NW Illinois come back to my CQ Arfcom calls on 7202not knowing what it was.

I'd be thrilled to know if I was making in to Montana on 100w.

Sorry I could not hear you. The band was in decent shape but you probably ran low power. I made at least 50+ contacts while building a new AR15 lower. This was my first build and I really wanted to call Dick Stoner and tell him how I feel about the little retainer springs. You'd think they would come up with a better design over the years.
40 meters is wide open to Europe right now. Got may DX contacts in Europe with 59++ reports. Good day today.

We have some weather moving through. I can be on the air in about 10 minutes if anyone is interested. 80 meters is probably the best choice for this time but 40m has been in very good shape lately too.

Yep. I've worked lots of DX with my mobile antenna and 100 Watts on 20 meters today.

Oops... I just heard thunder as I was typing this. Bad news. I can't operate until it's gone.  My tower is the tallest object within a 2 mile radius. Hopefully it will pass soon. Sorry, I take no chances with lightning.

Sorry, just checked the radar. It looks like the worst is yet to come. I'm out for the next 2 hours or so.

Is Gyprat netcontrol? Is that why there is no net or can I just not hear it.

Not sure my 4 watts through a Wonder wand indoors was gonna make it to the mailbox tonight. You guys were about 57 here, little fading in and out, but clear.

Need to quit professionally crastinating and get the antennas in the attic.

Just noticed activity in this thread but it's too late. Anyway, I'm in the shack if anyone wants a QSO with a "rare" DX in SC. LOL.

I was wondering if having an 80 meter net will work better on Saturday nights?
