I have raised beds at home that are weed free, but we have a more traditional tilled garden at work.  It is absolutely covered up with pigweed.  Damn stuff grows back as fast as we can pull it.

Any idea why it has taken hold with a vengeance this year and never before?  What's the best way to eradicate it without killing off the vegetables?

We pull it up by hand as soon as we see it. According to google it's edible... make a crop of it this year?

It's annoying, but not as annoying as the grass the grows into the beds and is almost impossible to pull up.
