Looking for a wood furnace to heat a 2000 square foot pole barn. What's the best option?

What about something like a double stack barrel stove with a shroud and fan? A buddy of mine made a shroud/fan set up for the wood stove in his shop and installed duct work. Worked amazingly well.  Problem with a pole barn is the damn height. That's a huge area of wasted heating

How warm do you want it to get and for how long?

Barrel stoves will take the chill off pretty easy for the time you are out there but forget about trying to keep it warm for an extended period.

The pole barn is insulated with 10' ceilings. We're looking for something to keep heat in there this winter.

What would be the best wood stove for this building? Interested too.

You need a heat loss calculation, which will tell you how much heat you need, then select the stove or furnace that will provide that amount of heat that also meets your budget.

The builditsolar website has a decent estimator, or you can download the Uponor Complete Design Assistance Manual which will walk you through the calculation.

I use ceiling hung electric heater. A double stack barrel heater may solve your problem. A 2000 sq. foot barn sounds like a large barn. Mine is a smaller barn on the backside of my house in colorado.
