Thanks man.
You really should try a fall / winter garden.

Well the fall crops are growing good and it shouldn't be long until we start harvesting.
The peppers took a hit last night at 28 deg and we are expecting another hit tonight.
That will probably finish them off. I tried to find some row cover but no one had any.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. The garden is slow and I've been busy.

Same here.  Mid-20s knocked 10 gallons of peppers in face.

Most of my fall garden is under 1" tall.  I waited for the drought to break before I planted.  looks like I might be too late for most of it.

Sorry to hear about your peppers. We lost 12 pepper plants, 5 basil and all of the okra. The second night dropped down to 23 deg.
We did manage to save the lettuce and napa cabbage.

Our collards are over a foot tall and everything else is growing like champs. I'm just hoping to get some rain over the next few days.

Well the garden is chugging along despite not having much sun in the past month.
We have been harvesting radishes, mustard and lettuce for a couple of weeks. The
broccoli, napa and cabbage are starting to head. The romain is about done and the
iceberg will soon follow.

We wound up with 6.01 inches of rain yesterday.  The beds handled it nicely.

The only bad thing going on is we got hosed on the chickens.
They are all roosters
So I have to find some recipes to deal with the last six birds. Once they are gone we
have a reputable source for the hens.

First you ain't right.

This is my second year with broccoli. Last year I planted plants on 10/7/12 started
harvesting 12/30 plants produced till 2/10/13. They need lots of water when they
head. I would say inch to inch and a half a week.

This year I planted the same pacman variety but also the premium. I will take pics
as soon as I can. It has been a little busy arond here.

Thanks for rubbing it in on the roo's I needed a laugh

Not much going on with the garden except battling the weather. We've had to keep certain plants
covered during the freezes. We pulled the lettuce and the rest of the radishes.

Lettuce and radishes.

We pickled the radish with carrots.

The gardens are starting to get some sun finally.

Some swiss chard to be planted later this week.

We have also been cooking with the things we've grown or made.

Spinach pasta.

Bacon wrapped quail with jalapeno jelly.

Cajun sausage pies.

Not much going on here. We are going to start seedlings in the greenhouse soon and get the beds tilled and fertilized for April.
Got the soil test back and already got the proper fertilizer. It seems no one had a good crop this winter, everybody is complaining.

Is there a waiting period between fertilizer and planting? I have to put in 120-0-120 in garden one, 120-0-180 in garden two and
aluminum sulfate in both. Thanks.

Well we started getting ready for the spring plant next week. We pulled all of the carrots and only got 13lbs.
We will pull the small onions, garlic, and mustard this weekend. If it wasn't for the rain I would be out fixing
the tiller right now it needs a new gas tank and a carb rebuild.

Our spring has kicked off quite well. We normally have mother nature throw us a
curveball on our spring trips but this one went well.
Still no pompano the water was not warm enough yet.

Saturdays catch. The wife got the big one. 8lb class

Sundays catch. I got the biggest of the weekend. 9lb class
First trip I got the big fish in 5 or 6 years.

Why did you pick so many young ones?

EDIT: If you dehydrate, runs the stalks and leaves in different batches or shelves.  I had issues with mine not being thoroughly dried when the leaves were toasty/dry.  Caused some issues with storage and mold.

Most importantly start your own thread with pics.

Vermont (one of those damned Yankees).  Cold, very cold. Still covered in snow and ice.

I'm looking forward to mud season so I can start the garden.

I'll work on starting my own thread about my gardening adventure. I plan on transplanting the seedlings I started into bigger pots this weekend. Maybe that would be a good place to start the thread.

The storms hit us harder than we thought. We got 4.33 inches if rain and a lot of wind.
The only damage to the garden was a branch hit the fence and bent the top. The temps
dropped a little low at night so tomorrow should be planting day.

We also have a little change coming.
