I have the larger, heavier (not by a lot) OmniFuel stove by the same mfr, Primus, and I sold off my older MSR Whisperlite Internationale to help pay for it. Good stove, but the OmniFuel is better, IMHO.
The Omnilite TI is claimed by the mfr to be smaller, more fuel efficient, and lighter because it is optimized to work with certain high-efficiency cooksets using heat exchangers. In short, it is a specialized stove.
From Primus site: "OmniLite Ti is based on the same technology as our award-winning OmniFuel. This stove is just as reliable and robust, but smaller, lighter and much more fuel-efficient. Its output has been adapted for the new generation of fuel-efficient pots with a heat exchanger, like our Eta Pots™."
It might work perfectly well with a minimalist cookset or whatever you have, but it is optimized for a certain application. Just be aware of this.
Other than that, the fuel pump is so constructed that most MSR fuel bottles will not work, so plan on buying some fuel bottles made by the same mfr. IIRC, the smallest MSR bottles will NOT work with this stove, but I am unsure of this. The other size(s) of the MSR bottles, being pressure-rated, and having the same neck threads, are OK. Just be aware that some MSR bottles are incompatible, and plan accordingly. I had to buy the needed bottles, plus a repair kit, so no big deal, just be aware of it, and check out the situation before first use. The Primus fuel bottles, like the MSR bottles, are first-rate, and rated for pressure use. Repair kit is always a must for any stove, IMHO. The devices sold by QuietStove.com actually work, and are worth considering. Dunno about their competitors. Do yourself a favor, and go to the Primus web site, and read their description of the stove before ordering. Not to imply there is anything bad whatsoever about this particular model, but make sure it is what you need.
