'Bought a Schrade schf37 and it has a coating on it. I want to remove the coating but im not sure what to put on it to keep it from rusting afterward.
what do you guys suggest?

Just keep it oiled old school...

Wipe it down after use...  A light rub afterwards of pretty much any oil will keep it happy.  I use whatever's on hand for my Mora's...

Originally i was going to, I think it looks nice, until you use the knife. It's already chipping off. Apparently they just put it on just to keep it from rusting after production.

If it's some clear poly-ethyl based coating and it's chipping off, I don't blame you.

Some sort of acetone, or other solvent that will dissolve it?
