I have been thinking about getting a CUCV, I have been drawn to them since I was a kid.  So I humbly ask for pics to help me make  up  my mind

There are few ppl on here with them. I like them but hard to find one not all ragged out. I opt for the civie version.

I miss mine (or I miss the moments that I was able to keep it running) and I miss the kick ass mileage (M1009) for such a capable vehicle.

I do NOT miss the electrical gremlins and dominos of failing 30 year old parts, but I guess what should I expect from a thirty year old car maintained by semi-retarded 18 year olds?

What  kind of mileage are you getting out of that

I found a m1008 roughly four hours away.  Is it best to convert these to 12 volt or leave at 24?  Are they as underpowered as people claim?  I need to be able to tow a tractor as well as get in and out of the woods.

The M1008 with stock wheels is about a 55 MPH rig. The 6.2 hates high RPMs. How heavy is the tractor?

Check out steel soldiers forum. They have tons of information over there. You can decide if owning a CUCV is worth it.

Hey DT! The bumper is holding up great. Getting rusty, I need to sand it down and repaint it soon. I'm going to paint my K5 in tan bed liner and keep the bumpers black.
