I was bummed because all the Augusan food has been missing from the Walmart in my town. Today I went in and much to my suprise theres now 4x the freeze dried goods there used to be.. And food grade buckets with gamma lids.. Walmart execs know theres something rotten in Denmark, or they are cashing in on the scared 2012ers. Either way its great for me.

I was at Wal-Mart today, but I didn't go through the whole store.  I doubt that kind of stuff was there though.

Wish it was...

Forgot to buy Mason jars while I was there

I've yet to see anything of that sort at any of the wal-marts around here, Elkins, Weston, Cburg, Mo-town.  Been a while since I was to some, but I know Elkins doesn't have that stuff.

We're screwed in the NorthEast. No Ammo Deals and no pallets of storeables. We make do with what we can get.

All three walmarts in my area have whole sections probably 3x the size of the one in the picture. It's decently priced too. We have had these sections for several years already.

The word is out about preppers and ammo hogs. Don't ever think for a minute that manufacturers and retail outlets like Walmart are not going to take

advantage. Now I'm not saying that nothing will happen, I don't know. Just remember the nature of supply and demand.

These are #10 cans not 10lb cans.  #(number)10 is a size not a weight.  I would bet these have about 2-3lbs of product, depending on type of food.

Which tells me that there are tons of baa baa sheep around here, being as I haven't seen such things in my 2 local Walmarts.

Funny, during the Obama Panic, the local gun shop had not sold many EBRs either, though truth be told they mostly stock Fudd guns.

The Ruckersville, VA store has the smaller white/clear poly water jugs, but I have not seen any other prep supplies.

However:
1. I don't visit the store much
2. I don't get very far past the ammo section

I will inquire more about any possibilities of future LTS food and prep related items when I am there next.

Can you update this thread if they ever get the food cans in.
I'll go that way down to c'ville instead of 81/64 to pick some up next time I'm heading that way.

That's great for your area. Here in SoCal there is almost nothing of use, very small "Camping/Outdoors" section, and no real bulk foods.

I have browsed it, but the dang shipping is as much as the grain.  I can't find a place to have it shipped to a local Sam's either.  I would be all over that.

Check your local farm and ranch stores.  All of ours have the blue 15 gallon water barrels as well as several other sizes.

Walmart is obviously aware of local demographics and selects products accordingly.

I buy Mountain House from my walmart. They only have 5 meal selections but I have been hoping that my purchases would provide the incentive to up the product choices. So far no luck.
