Haven't been able to sneak away, so I finally called in this morning and drove over to CT.

First fish of the year was a big boy.

Here's another fat hold-over I picked up in the afternoon (15"). I caught a glimpse of him holding about 15' to my right and picked him up on maybe the 4th attempt with a zug bug. Very subtle take and I was surprised to feel him there when I lifted the rod. I nymph 95% of the time in pocket water, and spotting a fish and then actually hooking up is a very rare event for me. Heck, it's a blue moon when I spot a fish when I'm on the water.

Not many fish (6 total), but it scored high in quality.

Trout opens on Saturday here. I need to get the light rods out and tune them up. I am looking forward to some dry fly action.
