Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - What's a 89 bass tracker worth, pro v 17

I've never owned anything besides a row boat, always wanted a boat to dink around with.  What should I look out for, saw this boat on a local ad think it had a 70 hp johnson on it, wanted 3000 obo.  Would it be a bad first boat, or should I just throw some money in a hole and call that my boat?

Personally I'm not a fan of the Johnson/Evinrude three cylinder outboards. Never the less, have it checked out and lake tested before you buy it.
Have a look through my thread from a few years ago. So you want to buy a used boat.

just bought 98 basstracker pro 165 for 4k if that gives you any idea...
