I hooked up with a couple large sharks but couldn't land them then on the last day I landed this hog. I'm guessing he was around 100lbs by some other photos I compared it to that I found on the net. Took 25 minutes to land it. Was using a 8' rod with 50# braid.

How wide?
A few weeks ago I shot a couple cow nose rays with my bow. 36" and 40lb each. Now I've got about 15lb of meat in the freezer. |

Very cool! I've caught some nice ones from Dauphin Island but never that big.

As a newb that's going surf casting for the first time this week, on vacation, what did you do with it? Release, fillet it up and freeze/eat? Is surf casting something that can be done catch and release?
