Thunderbirds left at least 12 empty nice blue 55 gallon drums from smoke oil behind.
Should I swipe them up? Any use for them?

Sell them?

Metal? If so make great burn barrels....

Other than that can't think of a thing since they are contaminated with oil.

Something like this. Since they had oil in them, they're not good for any of the typical uses like water storage, rain water collection, food storage, etc. About the only use I see is as a flotation device. You could use them for a weird boat event, or make a small pontoon boat or swim platform out of them.

You may even be able to sell them on Craigslist for $30-$40 each for someone looking to make something that floats.

Google "ugly drum smoker"

Burn the barrels good, repaint and make smokers out of them.

FWIW, smoke oil is usually parafin/mineral oil, not your usual motor/gear oil. Good chance it's pretty clean/clear stuff. Good chance you could clean it out pretty good and reuse.

if plastic, make rain barrels to water the garden
If metal, there are numerable fire holding applications from stove, to burn pit, grill, stock tank thawing fire holder, and I just googled it and found a link to build a forge.
