I went with my 12 year old to the local store.
I got a 8 foot rod on sale and a bunch of other stuff. We walk outside the store, I take no more than 10 feet outside the door and I hear a "SNAP". I look back and my daughter is now holding a 7.5' rod. She was holding it tip down, wasn't watching and stuck in the ground. Learning lesson all around Sigh....I love her |

The worst sound on the river is a bamboo fly rod snapping, you can hear that from 100 yards away and know exactly what it is without looking.

Has happened to the best of us. Here are some of my broken rod techniques:
Ceiling fans Car doors House doors Sloppy snap T casts Too many fish (bamboo) Sliding doors Rear hatch of truck Big foot Over flexing while landing fish Driving away with rod on hood So many more I can’t remember them all. Yes those are all mine…. |
