This mounted fish in Waldport, OR is supposedly a flounder.
After searching flounders I found there are over a hundred species, but they are never nearly this large. This mount is about 5' long.
I showed the pic to the fishing dept. "expert" at the Cabela's store and he said its a fake; someone painted up a halibut.
Thing is, halibut are right eyed flatfish and this is left eyed. California flounders can get pretty large, but the color and markings are different.
Can anyone ID the species of this mount?

All my wife's Alaska Flounder pics are of right side=dark side, fish.
