K2A is on 15m RTTY right now, but he can't hear me. I called and called.......nothing.

I have got 11 of them. Still looking for E and F and both bonus Stations.
Got f and wm3pen on cw this morning. Now I just need a and gb13col.
Got them all including both bonus stations except for GA. Heard GA on 20M this morning and then he faded. So frustrating!

Woohoo, just got the last one.
K2A 20m RTTY K2B 20m SSB K2C 20m SSB K2D 20m SSB K2E 40m CW K2F 20m CW K2G 30m CW K2H 15m CW K2I 20m SSB K2J 20m SSB K2K 20m SSB K2L 20m RTTY WM3PEN 20m CW Just noticed that the modes for the K2 stations have a very nice symmetry to them. I certainly didn't work them in that order (KLBHDJMICGEFA was the natural order). Now all I need is the GB13COL bonus station if i can ever hear it. He's been on 17m a lot and I don't have a 17m antenna. I also don't have a 30m antenna, but my radio put up with the SWR for 1 contact And for those afraid of CW, if you can send and recognize your callsign you can work the CW stations. They're all operating with a very straightforward format. If you're A1AA K2X QRZ A1AA A1AA TU 5NN <2 letter state> R 5NN <2 letter state> TU A1AA K2Z QRZ |

Got GB13COL and a bunch more tonight after returning from travel. Having the amp this year is definitely making it easier. All contacts on 40 except for my home state on 80M and GB13COL on 20M. All contacts by phone. Trolled 20 and 40M digi spots but saw nothing. Got WM3PEN last night. Just need DE and GA now. Two more to go! I have a KW amp and an antenna that's rated for it. However all of my neighbors are well within rock-throwing distance and I know I can make it into my own home theater system on 20 with 50 watts http://allelcdn.upshotcommerce.com//mas_assets/cache/image/1/7/3/2/480x480-5938.Jpg P.S. Just got DE, only GA to go! Yeah, I need to keep more of those around. I told the immediate neighbors to let me know if they start hearing weird sounds out of their electronics and I can fix it, but lots are fairly small here so I could be handing out a LOT of ferrites. I think I'm going to put some manner of yagi on the roof first (although in most orientations I'll be beaming into someone's upstairs) and see how that goes. |

Got all but DE and the Brit station today. Hope to get them before the end. Working with 100 watts and an OCFD up 20' from Texas.

Got 'em all plus the William Penn station. I'll try for the GB station tomorrow.

Got the brit, just need PA (K2M) for the 15 station sweep on ssb. Can hear, but can't get through the scrum... ETA - just got him on 20m ... lots of QRM but it should be a good contact http://www.skhowell.com/images/13 colonies 2015 log.jpg Nick View Quote Noice! |

i need RI, CT, SC and the two bonus stations
and of course a thunderstorm is rolling through when the brit and RI are loud and clear |

Does K2E (Delaware) ever work anything other than 40m on SSB? I have been trying for two days to find him on 17m or 20m where I might have a shot at him. I'd even try RTTY if he would use it.
Got all 13. Now I just need the 2 bonus stations.
I have yet to even hear GB13COL. |
Three more to go, but I have my doubts.
I still need K2C. The one time I heard him, he was quite weak, and there was not much chance I was going to bust the pileup (and I didn't). I have not heard either of the two bonus stations. But I got them all last year, so this year is not that big of a deal. Just fun to chase them. |
Yea! Just got K2E (Delaware) on 20m SSB. Nobody ever seems to spot them, I just stumbled upon her on the upper end of 20m. Really weak and a lot of QSB but was lucky and got in first call and got confirmed before she faded out. Whew!
Got the Penn bonus station, now just need to go find that Brit. |
You've all got 'til midnight Sunday so plenty of time to get it done. I did it on the last day one year. The pile-ups to get a bit ferocious on Sunday nights, though
just got 8 of them in less than 40 min. getting ready to jump back on and try to grab a few more.

GB13COL is currently on 14.340, 2234 UTC. He seems to be best into the East Coast only occasionally can I hear him way out West, and then only about 5-2. If the conditions don't improve or I don't log him tonight I'll send my cert request off anyway. I have everything else.

Been running errands all day so I'm just into beer and netflix at the moment Figure I'll wait until after Sunday to send it in just in case I get him over the weekend. |

When I caught GB13COL yesterday he was working 17m SSB...

Resonant on 15 and 20 and from about 28.1-28.5. 40 is way off but I just use the tuner there. Got it to work on 30 well enough to get one of the 13 colonies stations. |
clean sweep in about 4 hours on the radio. got PEN but not COL. cant hear them on 40 nor 17. giving up for now and will get back on a little later to see if they are still operating.

COL is still being elusive for me. couldnt hear them on any of the freq's they were on. maybe tomorrow i can snag them for my first 13 colonies event.
Luckily COL is not required for a "clean sweep". It was a good "optional" addition, though, as I suspect people wanted just a little more challenge
I wanted to work all of the 13 Colonies on CW, but sadly a few seem to be MIA.
K2A is one in particular that seems to be lacking on CW. One comment from a Russian station made me laugh when I read it on the DX cluster. "It is urgent to teach the telegraph !" I guess he really wanted to work K2A on CW. |
Probably not going to happen. I still need both bonus stations, and I have yet to hear either one all week.
I need F,G,H and the two kickers. With today's band conditions, I am not hopeful.
I had everything except GB13COL. I quit due to conditions and not really ever hearing GB13COL. Still got my Clean Swept though. Certificate request is in the mail. Until next year!

One more to go. I gave up on Gb13col though so just H is left. They seem to pick the worst freqs for N. TX.
i dont like to give up but i have given up on trying to get COL. i heard him for a bit on 14.325 but he was down in the noise. so i will just have to be happy with the 13 and one bonus. maybe next year.
I gave up on col. I got all 13 plus wm3pen but I never could hear the birts anywhere
I challenged k2h to move to 20m late in the game via cwfun spotter. I offered to pay a charity of his choice. He accepted. I kinda heard him, and he kinda heard me. 2x3 both ways kinda thing. Should I log it? We exchanged calls a few time but couldn't get past that part of the qso before one of us slipped out.

I only got 4 of them this year. Working nights had me sleeping when they were on the air.

I got a very late start and managed to work 10 of them in about an hour.
Mainly 40 meters. |

I got all the states, but missed both bonus stations. I never even heard them.
