I just ordered a BO pistol without brace but have other ways to mock it up. I can have the answer in about a week if nobody helps before then.

I bought my upper off another person but it was new/unfired. Pretty sure it has the older style gas regulator, and this will be run 100% suppressed both subs and supers. Does PSA sell the newer regulators? At least I think I saw they come with two different regulators now.

Anyone have an issue removing the rear picatinny adapter on an FDE lower? Trying to install the F5 and the sucker won’t budge.

I’m getting feed failures when trying to chamber a round. I broke down the gun and made sure everything was clean and well lubed and nothing looked out of place. When I disassembled the bolt, the extractor spring looks like it’s been through hell on a brand new gun. Chewed up and looks like it’s been cut/filed down. Ammo is AAC 110 grain 1) is the extractor spring standard AR spec? If so, I can certainly swap it. 2) any other suggestions before sending the upper back to PSA? Nothing else I’m seeing looks like a cause for concern View Quote Update on my post with Jakl issues. After a little help pushing my warranty claim (Thanks PSA Team!) I received my 300 BO upper back from PSA. Notes indicate that the carrier was replaced and the rifle was test fired. I haven’t been able to make it to the range yet, but the rifle will chamber a round (both supersonic and subsonic rounds) which it would not before. Once function is verified at the range, I’ll pull the stock flash hider and install the suppressor mount for the Trash Panda. |

Anyone had accuracy issues with their JAKL?
I took my new 13.7" out on Sunday to get it sighted in with a 1-8 NX8 Nightforce. First 10-15 shots were fine, got it rough zero'd & gas settings correct at 50 and moved back to 100 to dial it in. Got it mostly where I wanted and then started shooting some steel. Accuracy dropped off the planet... at the end I couldn't hit a 10" plate from 100 yards with good handloads (that shoot 3/4" groups in some of my AR's). I brought it home and cleaned the heck out of the barrel (had a ton of fouling in it for only shooting maybe 100 rounds). I checked the mount and scope (tight and GTG), I tried to wiggle the barrel and handguard, but they both seemed snug. I'm wondering if the barrel had developed a nasty burr at the gas port or something. That's about the only thing I can think of. Any ideas? -ZA |

Thanks, Josiah View Quote I cleaned the heck out of it last night and took pictures of the gas port with my bore scope. It definitely looks like a burr at the gas port. I think I’m going to try to put another 100 rounds through it and then have you guys check it out if it doesn’t get better. The gas port cut entirely through a land, which increases the chances of this happening in my experience. Attached File Attached File |

I purchased a 10" upper kit from a member of ARFCOM. It is used. I put it together on a Spikes Tactical lower that I have had for years. I am having a problem with it holding the bolt open on the last round when using Pmags only. Metal USGI mags work perfect. Gun is clean and has no other issues. Using the PSA bolt hold open device that is the correct "thin" one.
Any advice? |

Any plans to sell the lowers separately or a lower build kit with lower receiver completely unassembled? My son wants to build an AR and of course picks an FDE Jakl.

I picked up my new 13.7 inch p&w FDE 5.56 JAKL today from PSA. No chance to fire it yet, so these are my ergonomic observations. First of all, I love the F5 stock. I can get a fit that suits me just right, plenty of adjustments available. The metal finish looks good all around. The charging handle spring is pretty stiff, but manageable. Overall, a very cool looking rifle.
The only negative thing I have to say is this rifle really needs a lighter weight barrel. As others have noted, it is heavy for a 5.56mm rifle, and VERY muzzle heavy. It is so biased towards the muzzle, that I find the muzzle end stock QD point to be almost useless, you cannot carry it anyway but muzzle down. Even without shooting this rifle, I am already hoping for a run of lighter barrel contour uppers to get the weight down. YMMV |
