I’ve been curious if these are gassed conservatively enough to suppress comfortably or if they are gassed more for general consumer user, low powered steel case etc with a lot of gas blow back suppressed. Or somewhere in between. |

Saw that the C7 COMPLETE 20" UPPER, BLACK is now available on the PSA site.
Was wondering if there was an estimate on when we'll see a grey C7 complete upper available for sale? |

Anyone know what stock assembly is correct for an XM177E2?
Two position? Six position? Aluminum? Plastic? Also, anyone know if anyone makes a flash moderator that's long enough to make an 11.5 barrel legal length with a pin and weld? Apparently a "Bricks moderator" used to be a thing that worked well, but near as I can tell, those are long since gone... Starting to think I'm going to have to buy an upper and replace the barrel with a Brownells 12.7 and moderator, but then I'd have an extra barrel lying around... seems wasteful... Thanks! |

Hey Mike. I just started building my M16A1 lower with M16A1 parts kit and I noticed the selector is of the tick variety. I ordered the no tick one on the website but just a heads up some of the A1 kits have the wrong stuff in them.

You could poll 100 people in this thread on would they prefer a laser engraved or a roll marked lower. 99/100 would opt for the latter. Would I be willing to pay a mag of 5.56 more for a roll marked H&R lower? Absolutely. You would too. Mike's contributions to the retro community are immense. Could he do more? Could he give us even better products? Absolutely. He would probably agree. People say PSA price point blah blah. I say PSA has incredible resources and capability to make good better. These products have often sold out in HOURS, sometimes MINUTES. Mike is the Taylor Swift of retro. As I type, PSA is spending that roll mark die money on some AK bullpup lever action 5.7 prototype for SHOT Show 2025. The American firearm industry has won two world wars, it can put roll marks on lowers again. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/41811/6CA466BE-78B1-47E1-A058-2D38C81B4F81_jpe-3159490.JPG I still maintain that the above could be simulated with laser if the laser spends more time at the periphery. Deep on the sides, shallow in the middle. I also feel that Mike could patent that. Have a graphic designer develop an H&R font set (instead of the Microsoft Word drop down menu selection currently employed) and then have some fun with your laser guy and some giga blem lowers. You could make each number in the serial number a few pixels up/down/left/right--irregularly irregular. This would not involve dies, just code, and could rapidly be changed for new lower designs. View Quote That statement is not entirely correct. The HRM16A1, COMMANDO, HRM16A2, XM177E2, & XM 16 E1, did indeed have fonts specifically designed from the original H&R roll marks (though the laser does make them wider). I believe the SF COTS, and the 601, were handled by a different designer. Noticeable in width, spacing, and in certain letters and numbers. Subtle, but uniquely different. The only way the laser could mimic a roll mark better, would be to write a code that would altered depth and width randomly for each lower. However, that would still not provide the raised or pushed edging. And, it would also require constant supervision to make sure the markings remained repeatedly legible. Though, I will agree with you, roll mark stamping would be a nice improvement for the retro line. Attached File |

View Quote I believe I speak for others when I say that what is needed, first of all, is a steady supply of stripped A1 uppers, both black and gray. The loyal customers of, and believers in, Harrington & Richardson Arms, DESERVE this. Many of us have run the gauntlet to snag a lower, with the tacit understanding that uppers would be forthcoming, but only a literal handful have been released thus far. Yet, all this time, we've seen variant upon variant being offered up for sale, even though ONLY the M16A1 was made by H&R back in the day. Maybe, for once, what is needed is a run of, say, 1000 stripped uppers being listed. I, speaking for myself, am damned proud that I was able to build my H&R M16A1 (something which I NEVER dreamed was possible), and I believe MOST of us have been willing to be patient, but that patience is wearing somewhat thin. Mike, my deep admiration for what YOU have accomplished is second to none but, PLEASE, try to do more than simply throw a small bone to the crowd, now and again, by helping us to finish our languishing builds. It is only FAIR. Just my two bits. |
