Just curious - I have a similar SP1 in the 6xx range - does yours have the original bolt catch, or the intermediate type? Mine is intermediate type. Also, my scope has the Colt logo stamped or engraved, not painted on. What is yours like, and do you know its vintage - late 50s or early 60s, etc.? |

Nice Colt. You are going to freak some folks out here when they see that dirt on your weapon. I'd bet half of these weapons have never even been to the range.

it was just a Black Rifle... now it's finally a Evil Black Rifle got the barrel threaded for a FH and the CAR handguards replaced with a YHM rail system |

Looks good...what replacement upper receiver did you use? Does it have a shell deflector & FA? Please post pics of the ejection port side if you don't mind. Cheers |

Very nice. How hard was it to swap out the upper receiver? Do you have to plug the gas tube hole for any reason? I know the 6450 is blowback, but wasn't sure if the hole would allow any gas to bleed out of the front of the receiver.
|
|
|
Swapping out barrels/receivers is a piece of cake...nothing to it with the correct tools! Haven't fired it yet, but I can't imagine gas out the gas tube hole should be any big deal...I'll plug it if I need too though.

VERY NICE! |

Man...that is nice. Was that a factory configuration with the M16A2 lower and C7/A1 carbine upper? Regardless, it is sweet |

Very nice. I may go this route myself. Who did the barrel swap, and how much did that run you? |
||
|
Wes,
A local 'smith did the work on those guns a few years ago. Don't remember what he charged me, but it wasn't much. Changing the barrel on an AR is not a complicated undertaking. More than likely there is a gunsmith or average guy in your area that can do this work for you. If you don't know of anyone, a good place to locate someone locally is in the Hometown forum. Hope this helps |

Helps a great deal. Thanks, Bro |

there are 2 of mine 6920 M4 and a 6700/A4
I had the barrel of the 6700 threaded by doublestar. it was a ban rifle. Its the one I posted about being a rifle with m4 feed ramps and having a m4 upper receiver from the factory |
