[Last Edit: JTDistributing]
I was asked by multiple people at SHOT show to do a run of Gen 3 SOCOM stocks. I'm considering making a run of 500 pieces but I am proposing to make a change to the tube and only have 4 stops instead of 5 like the original. The first and last would be in the same position, but there would be more material between the stops to help prevent the rounding issue we had with that generation locking mechanism. This would also make these discernable from the original stocks to prevent misrepresentation. The only thing that I cannot reproduce is the original buttpad, we made a new mold a couple of years ago while the old one was on it's last leg. The new pads have a different pattern on the back, are made from a slightly different material than the original, but same overall profile. Those would run around $240 for the buttstock with gusset, foam, new buttpad, and screw pack. Let me know if you're interested.
Thanks, Jesse Edited because I wasn't paying attention, I meant the square locking version. |

I'm in, what's the timeline looking like from production to delivery?

Yeah plenty of confusion on the diff gen button shapes out there. Only real interest is in the square latch model. I’d def be in for one if so.

Yes and please make more than just 500. Make the square latch repro with the gusset the next Gen all together. No one will complain. Put a gen number somewhere inconspicuous to differentiate from originals further than the butt pad.

im currently running a gen 4 with a gusset on it but would love to get the square locker back on it. i def agree we need more material there. |

I will buy one as long as it has the square latch and is as close to original for a Mod H as possible (4 vs. 5 adjustments, I get it)

It's a cool stock, but there's no way to keep it solidly attached to the receiver; even if you mount it perfectly, after a few hundred rounds, the stock gets a little wobbly.

Nonne delectaimini? Nonne hoc est quare adsitis?

I would buy one

What's the status on the gen 3 run? Is it a go yet?

I apologize for the delay in responding to your IM's, I was at National Gun Day and SOS this weekend and had crap service in the building. I'll be responding to them shortly. I've got a couple of companies that I'm waiting on a commitment from to verify the run would be worthwhile, I'm hoping to pull the trigger this week.
Thanks, Jesse |

These are a go, plan on them being available in about 10 weeks, these will be a normal inventoried product, only limited runs will occur. I'll post the link here when they'll be available for purchase.
Thanks, Jesse |

We are going to make a couple of changes to make them distinguishable from the originals. Functionally, we're going to change from a 5 position stock to a 4 (open, closed, and two middle positions), this will increase the amount of material between the stops to reduce the issues we had with the locking mechanism rounding off the stops in the tube. The engraving will switch from www.aceltdusa.com to www.doublestarusa.com.
Thanks, Jesse |
