For those who live in California, Brownells has what you need. Hopefully Mark will follow suit...I would much rather have a LaRue than an Aero.....
What Brownells is offering is a rifle that has a muzzle brake, no bayonet lug, no sights, and no furniture....... This is legal in California as it has no stock or pistol grip or flash suppressor or bullet button. If you add a fixed stock and a Monsterman grip (or equivalent) you have a featureless rifle..... The Aero does come with the carbine buffer tube setup, but no stock, so plan on changing the buffer tube/buffer..... Mark, you offer fixed stock rifles with muzzle brakes. If you could design an APEG grip that works like, but is better than the Monsterman grip, you have California in your pocket!!!!! Better hurry as DD and Wilson are now offering CA legal rifles.... |

The 6.5 Grendel has become my favorite rifle. I have not had this kind of fun since I was a kid with my Daisy model 96!
I just ordered an Ultimate Upper kit in 6.5 Grendel. What a great opportunity for a father and son project. Mark I know that you mentioned a possibility of matching lowers (go ahead and charge me for one), is there any chance of adding the Burris in the FDE LT104? That is the best deal available anywhere for an optic/mount combo! Thanks for another unbelievable deal, Fr8dog |
|
@LaRue_Tactical
Love the kit, sir. I recognize to do this efficiently the options need to be simple. That said, any chance on a 15" handguard for the longer barrels 18/20"? |

Couldn't pass it up.... really nice deal!
Hoping for the opportunity of a FDE lower and FDE mount.... hint hint... |
|
I'm really really tempted now to pull the trigger on one of the remaining 6.5 Grendel FDE rifles
AND a matching 14.5" FDE upper kit to match and pair with it!! Damn damn damn... |
|
Remarkable deal! In for a 6.5G, hemmed and hawed, in again for a long 300.
ETA: First post in 3 years--I better quiet down now, LOL... |
|
Oh man....
I thought, and thought, and thought, and couldn't pass this up. Pulled the trigger on a 6.5 Grendel in UDE, my first in this caliber. Thanks Mark!!! And for the record, a matching lower would make this 100K times better. |

I'm just not a fan of Keymod. Wish it was pick your upper - TOBR, Tar, or Keymod and the rest. But still a good deal.

Had the 6.5 not been so tempting I'd have money to burn on this great deal. Alas I may have to coach my wife to this link for my birthday present. View Quote ETA. Thanks Mark again! |

Buddy came over wanting his first AR. I didnt have the green for mine since I just got a Garand so I sat him down at my PC and we ordered a predator 18 inch for him. He is super pumped for his first AR. Can any one suggest something better than an anderson lower to go on the rifle?Aero? ETA. Thanks Mark again! View Quote |

I'll probably be using a Mega billet lower with mine. The fit between the one I have and the Larue uppers is *tight*, kind of like the Larue lowers fit to their uppers. I trust Mega to make their stuff properly, not so much with some of the cheaper lowers though they do work when made properly. The billet lowers out there will probably give the rifle a better look than the forged lowers too, if that matters at all. I'm not a fan of Aero personally (you guessed it...due to parts being out of spec) but many people are. View Quote Twirling my thumbs with loaded cart all day on a 6.5 |

I have a brand new Aero lower that I could put this on BUT CA sucks and I will not put this kit on a neutered lower with a bullet button or a featureless build. It's going on one of my registered assault weapon lowers so that I can use all of the "evil" features (collapsible stock, detachable mag and a pistol grip). lol
Did I mention that CA sucks? Because it does. |

Sorry for a newbie question but ... would I need to be concerned about headspacing if I purchased the "kit" as I don't have correct gauges to check?
Thanks |

For those who ordered an FDE 18" 6.5G, what is the difference between that for $900 and what LT was offering a few weeks ago for $2k, besides the lower?
I know Larue lowers command a pretty penny, but a $1000 stripped lower? |

Extra stuff plus labor to assemble. I do not know what his shop rate is but, did you look at shop rate last time you got a car fixed. Plus the peace of mind of a working firearm.

But I like kits the question is can I convenience the wife I just got an expensive puzzle. Got to many guns, can I get away with just saying it is a nice puzzle.

I can't wait. Just hope I can get a lower to mach. What mags work best? Do not have 6.5g mags at the house.
|
|
It was very hard to resist the 6.5G rifle offering a few weeks ago, especially with the options but I'm glad I waited.
In for FDE PtAR 16" in 5.56...this was a hard decision as BuildAR is right around the corner. Hopefully a lower is in the next offering (with a drop-down option for Black, FDE or UDE) Thank you Mark, can't say this enough!...my father loves his Stealth 2.0 BuildAR rifle in RO that I built him and it's a tack driver. |

I'm a LT fan.....and I bought the complete Grendel...but I do feel a little "got"....I would have not dropped 2k if I knew a 1k option was coming....the LT lower is not worth $900. And all that extra stuff is fluff....cheap for them in bulk....unnecessary for me.u pay ur money and you take ur chances View Quote |

whoever came up with this concept at LaRue deserves a steak dinner.
Rolling your own has never been easier. Great idea! |
|
Agreed. It is a great product. Probably the nicest gun i own.
It just hurt to see the upper package come along this soon i guess... im poor. I charged it to my card. I would have totally went for the upper instead of the full gun if it was an option. But, i now own a Fully built LT....i guess there are worse problems to have. |
