My name was drawn for the 12/18 www.larue.com MBT trigger contest. Prior to this contest, the only thing I had ever won in my life was an 80 pound pumpkin as a kid over 20 years ago
I pulled a Geissele SD-E out of my LaRue lower, and installed the new MBT. I haven't fired any rounds yet but the trigger feels fantastic. Thanks a ton to ML and all the fine folks at LaRue Tactical! |

Was the $200 stealth barrel black friday deal just the barrel or the entire kit? Either way, I'm kinda sad I wasn't paying attention to it

I just got a 14.5" for the $200 and it was barrel only. Couldnt pass up on that deal. |

Btw, it's absolutely excellent. Will try to shoot some groups with it and my 20" stealth this weekend. |

I think I like it a more than the black gold in my tOBR and will be swapping it the day the package shows up. I check my account every morning to see if a new order is in there. |

I think what he was saying was with a weaker spring compared to a full power spring, as soon as the hammer begins to fall there are micro seconds between when the it starts to fall and makes contact to the firing pin. Within these micro seconds you have time to move a little. That is where the accuracy could fall off. I could be totally wrong about it though. |

Light springs help to keep you from pulling your weapon off target while squeezing the trigger. Using light JP springs with stock trigger parts may result in light strikes, and will certainly cause spring failure much more rapidly than using stock springs. I would suggest using the red spring with stock parts or using a JP speed hammer instead of the stock hammer when utilizing the yellow spring..... Actually makes for a nice trigger, well for a stock "type" trigger..... Personally, I prefer a Black Gold or an MBT over a stock trigger. Haven't ride a Geezer trigger yet..... BTW Mark, a minor change to the MBT that would make it work with large pin tirgger lowers would be to: 1. Make the holes larger. (Duh!) 2. Make the spring pad around the hammer pin hole the stock diameter so it would have plenty of meat and you could use JP springs.... Those two things should be all that is needed for an MBT-LP (Meticulously Built Trigger - Large Pin) |

Unfortunately, my Colt is a large pin. Which is why I added some extra notes after you quoted me. I am running the JP speed hammer in that lower. I have purchased two MBT's but ended up trading them for Black Gold triggers which were already in a few other AR's. I wanted to keep all my triggers the same..... That said, if they make a large pin MBT, I will definitely buy one!!!!! (And maybe several more MBT's to convert all the other AR's back to MBT).....
The MBT is absolutely my second choice for a trigger!!!! I just prefer single stage triggers and the first stage on a Black Gold is so light it doesn't even seem like it's a stage..... |
