It's mine. It's a factory G19 slide with milling and RMR cut done by my friend Larry at J&L Machining Works out in Idaho. He's also cutting my M&P slide and has done my manufacturer engraving on my lowers. Does great work!

That's a lot of detail on the slide. I would not have guessed it was once factory.

I finally had a chance to do a function check with five rounds out behind the barn today - flawless!

I had to modify my old USGI surplus mags that I had registered for a future full auto Tommy Gun.  To make them work in my pre-ban semiauto, I needed to modify the mag catch hole (instead of buying a Full Auto mag catch which wouldn't let me run my modern 10 round drum mag)

That's the messed up part.  This is for my McMillan .50.  The only way members can shoot a .50 at Metacon is to run it suppressed.  That was the rule before I joined.  My .408CT does not need one.  I don't know the reasoning but rules are the rules and I respect them.  But if it was solely/mainly for sound, I can tell you the .408 is LOUD.  REALLY FREAKING LOUD.  I already sort of changed the caliber v. club steel rule (.300 WM or less now) and had to buy my own steel so I'll just lie low now.

Seriously, requires its own suitcase. I'm guessing on the price, but it should probably come with handcuffs to chain that case to your wrist

I think the skull and suppressor AAC logo is quite appropriate for that can / case!!

They've got the Oslo 500 for $2300 right now. Seem like a good price/time to get it or do you think there will be some movement on that off season?

Thanks

The project was over the past two weeks.  The big time saver was using an EGW barrel bushing made to my barrel and slide specs.  The barrel bushing fit like a glove and rotated in the slide like butter.

I have a few small issues to workout.  Nothing like building a gun using wilson combat, les baer, nighthawk, EGW, fusion firearms, regent and PSA.  Hopefully a range trip and a few hundred rounds will smooth out my issues.

This project was quite the learning experience.  Both in how to fit one and on manual of arms.  Overall I'm proud.

You should be proud building that from scratch.  I would have gone to the range and said " hey buddy, want to shoot a really cool .45?" before I tried it but that's probably a law school thing.

I have (and still shoot) an early 1980's Colt Gold Cup that I used to shoot IPSC with in the 1990's.  That is majority of my 1911 experience.  What is that thing that looks like a switch on the lower back of the left grip?
