I'm planning a visit to Virginia Beach to visit an old Army buddy in a couple months.

I have several carry permits that VA honors and usually carry concealed while in VA.

I skimmed the HTF looking for anything special that applies to VB with regard to prohibited areas or special rules, but didn't see anything.

Is there anything/any place I should be aware of?

Thank you in advance!!

Ed

No local laws, just follow state law.

There is a mag restriction if you do not have a permit. But you are good if you got several.

Thank you vatopa!

I was unaware of any non-permittee mag restrictions.

ETA: Found a 20 round threshold after which a firearm is considered an 'assault weapon'.

I wanted to provide facts, but after 2020 when VA undermined
preemption, localities have screwed VA CHP with asinine bullshit
like no carry, no exception for CC in parks and public places.

I'll keep looking, but I'm sorry I don’t have ready answers

Only applies to aliens or to open carry without a concealed carry permit recognized by Virginia.

Park must be clearly posted at all entrances for the carry ban to be in effect. Ok buildings that's pretty easy, in parks not so much. And walking around VA Beach today, I saw no signs where I went. Not even state park buildings are posted.
