There are several anti-gun bills back in committee. Hearings are scheduled for tomorrow, March 5th, and Thursday, March 7th. NRA-ILA has an article  with some details.

The worst bills - waiting periods, universal background checks, and red flags - have hearings on Thursday. Gun Owners of Maine is holding a Save the Second Amendment rally at the State House at 10am. The hearings start at 11:30.

The waiting period  bill was defeated in the state Senate last session, but was reintroduced this session, this time with dozens of cosponsors. By my count, 3 senators flipped and became cosponsors for the waiting period bill.

Please try to get down to the State House on Thursday morning if you can. The more of us there, the better. If you can't make it, you can submit written testimony online for each bill.

You can submit written testimony here. Choose "Public Hearing", then "Judiciary Committee", then the hearing date and time - March 5th at 11:30 for LD 2119  (waiving gun rights) and LD 2086  (destroying confiscated firearms), or March 7th at 11:30 for LD 2224  (red flags and UBCs) and LD 2238  (waiting periods).

Semantics, but LD 2238 is at 11:32 when submitting testimony.
