Remember the attempts to pass a "Red Flag" law last year, well the same group of people are back with the same crap. The perpetrator in chief is Senator Whitney Westerfield. There are no more "prefiled bills" to peruse at your pleasure. Now, we have to skim through them all whenever they show up and vote on them yesterday. I have not seen the bill, but it is scheduled for a hearing of a Joint House/Senate Committee on the Judiciary on Friday, Dec. 15 at 10 am in room 157 of the Capitol Annex. Last year this same hearing was held and the backers of the bill had made it all seem so wonderful, if anyone complains about you, the cops can come to your house and take you for a mental examination. The fact that you want to own guns is proof that you are crazy, so they are taken from you until you can prove you are not crazy There is no "jury of your peers", there is no "innocent until found guilty", there is no due process, no crimes need to be commited. Last year, local cops tried to take the guns away from a local man in Floyd Co. and it ended up with four dead, a local cop, a Sheriff's deputy, a State Trooper and the man who was guilty of who knows what, because there is no court record. That is often what happens when these tactics are used and there is no perceived justice or fairness.  Last year's meeting was going smoothly until Savannah Maddux tore the roof off of the building  while explaining the Constitution, Ky. law, due process and the need to preserve at least the appearance of fairness and the rule of law. All gunowners of Ky should show up for this hearing. Senator Westerfield will have his army of "moms demand action" working for him. By the way, Senator Westerfield has already said that he does not intend to run for reelection when his present term ends.
