Let's get moving, slobs!

Note the start time, rain or shine, unless it's raining an inch an hour or more, since this is a hike and not a swim.

New people are always welcome for our standard six miler (eight miles by mutual agreement), some of us are training up to 12 miles.

If you're new, bring:

Good shoes with good socks.
Water, maybe a snack
A way to carry said water or snack
Flashlight/something with a light on recommended

If requested, I can bring a scale to measure your loadout for reportable ruck marches for your APC ratings. If you don't know what that is, that's okay too.

IM for step-off location, and the hiking routes are variable depending on the condition of the trails.

It requires surgery, which I don't want... or at least anytime soon.

I think I might listen to the specialist doctor for a change -
Quote "Rest your leg."

Easy to say for someone NOT in construction.

I might try the hike, but it would be halfway at most,
and on the paved trail. I grew up on the side of mountains.
Not hiking wooded trails is very disappointing.

Thanks for the @, I’m about to head down next week to Texas for a seven day class, cant swing a hike before we leave.

Hit me with a mention next time, trying to get more hikes in, and I don’t mind the drive - I have some family close by to y’all that I need to come visit soon.

Also for Ambridge77, maybe we can get Homie Jr. to haul you along in a fireman's carry!

Jr has a note from his rowing coach, not sure he'll make it.

I ignored the doctors (plural) recommendation to stay off the leg,
and afterward the knee got worse.

I know far more people have worse pain, and still manage to hike.

I might attempt it, but it's like the knee doesn't want to bend.

We could bring a wagon.  Opie is coming along and two dogs could pull Ambridge in a radio flyer.

"Screw you guys, I'm going home."

ETA - My honor has been challenged, sir.  Now it is imperative I make an appearance.

In.

No need for a Radio Flyer.

My doctor won't sign off on my hike.

I can't afford what comes next.

I hate being 50.  This sucks.

Drinking beers after will hide the pain until tomorrow. Works for me.

I'm sorry guys.

According to my wife, I fell asleep on the couch watching Matlock
reruns while waiting for the right time to head for Hunter Mill.

I await the well deserved mockery.

ETA - My wife texted me a link to Sunrise Assisted Living Facilities.
