I may be in the market soon, so if anyone has any good experiences with IT recruiters in our state please let me know.  Market is pretty garbage right now it looks like.

No recommendations for a recruiter, but be very careful with them.

Don't let them just shotgun your resume all over the place.

Try and pick just one and don't let them shop you to every opening they might see.

If you look at the job listings, a lot of them are 'duplicates' where some are just screen scraping and re-posting the same thing over and over. It gives the false impression there are more openings than actually exist.

Good luck and if it comes down to it, don't over look the State IT openings. They don't pay but can get you by for a while if you suddenly find yourself out on the street.

That is good info, thanks for that.  Hadn't looked at local Government for obvious reasons but certainly worth a second glance.
