NYC ( and other states ) has some really effed up laws.

Really wanting to see how this pans out. From what I'm seeing, she shouldn't have been arrested, as they've not been there for 30 days. Only two. "In New York City, a person can claim “squatter’s rights” after just 30 days of living at a property."

We had some squatters move in down the block from us into a home where the homeowner died in 2016 with no next of kin.  The entire neighborhood of typical LI libs (with a few exceptions) was up in arms about it and eventually got them kicked out.  That being said the county originally granted them the right to stay based on their fake lease and even agreed to pay their moving expenses once their eviction was finalized.

There is no lease. Squatter claims to have one, but can't provide it, as per the article. Owner is just trying to sell it.
