The Maine Gun Safety Coalition is holding an event at the State House on Wednesday, January 3rd at 9:00 am, the day before the state legislature resumes its session. They're pushing for a state-level AWB, waiting periods, red flag laws, and universal background checks.
Gun Owners of Maine is also holding an event that day, encouraging people to show up to the State House to, politely and respectfully, remind the legislators that we do not want these kinds of laws. Try to make it down to Augusta if you can. Encourage others to go, too. It's best to neuter BS like this as early as possible. |

I really don’t get it either. I know a bunch of folks, relatives, friends, coworkers and surprisingly hunters. All good people. Worked hard all their lives. Never had anything given to them. Didn’t spend beyond their means. Hire attorneys and financial advisers to help them keep as much of their money as possible to which I don’t blame them. But they vote democrat. They believe gun control will reduce crime. They don’t believe “assault” weapons should be owned by anyone other than police and military. They believe boosters and masks will keep you safe. Waiting periods will save lives. The Russian collusion hoax was real and so on. Doesn’t matter what you say. I don’t get argumentative but try facts and reasoning. They just believe the government is to be trusted as long as DJT isn’t running it. I really don’t see this ending well |

Yeah i work with a former army officer thats the same way. Idk hopefully someday (soon) they’ll see whats going on.
