As an American, casually catching articles about the covid rules in the UK you would think the country is in total panic. You can't go out and eat? A pub? Masks everywhere at all times, no socializing with those outside your household. That shit seems crazy.

I'm not even 100% sure what the rules are in my state but unless your in one of the larger cities everyone ignores all of it. Basically no or little masks, restaurants pretty much ignore the rules, mayne they moved the tables a little farther apart but so.e haven't even done that, otherwise there doesn't seem to be any other rules that I know of. The police do not give a fuck about enforcing anything related to covid, health departments are basically non-existent.

I assume its similar in the UK. No way everybody is following all this crap. I feel like you guys are being punished for Brexit just like the US is for Trump.

Many (most) are following the rules. The more remote you are the safer you may be in ignoring them. Everyone is not panicking, the media will play up any trouble to terrorist proportions because there seem to be no new news to add to the daily diatribe of CV19 info.

What you need to realise is the UK is a far more densely populated country than the US, we have nearly 10 times the people per square mile. Things can spread a lot faster here and overwhelm the systems meant to keep everyone save and well too quickly.

Anyway, I'm enjoying the holiday, don't have to socialise with family I don't want to and I can go shoot on the farm when I like.
I do miss the range and competitions though.
