Awesome pics-thanks for posting.  It looks like that machining would chip away at some of the pitting.  What made you get the barrel shortened if you don't mind me asking?  How much did it get shortened, 1"?

It was shortened to 4 1/2" to keep ammo sub sonic, especially when using a suppressor

I'm pretty sure it is quieter than yours

But the re-core made a hell of an improvement .  Almost as quiet as.

Now I'm all undecided over this shortening the barrel length thing....

Took the beast out to the range this morning.  I don't know if it was crappy Remington Standard Velocity ammo or if it had too much white grease in it from the previous owner.

I had 5 FTF out of 100 rounds.  It did cycle about 15 rounds of CCI subsonic though.

Wondering if the springs are beat but it probably just needs a real good cleaning.  I would think CLP would be better to use than grease.

It's likely the ammo

Clp would be better IMO.

Thanks H.C. That's what I figured.  I was surprised it cycled the subs.  I'll have to give it a good douching.  It was pretty clean when I got it so I put a few drops of weapon shield in the action and down the bore.  I think that grease grabbed a lot of gunk.

Noticed last week while at High Rock they have plate shoots for 22 pistol and rifle on certain days. It is 3.00 for members and 5.00 for non members Never tried it and will be giving it a shot the next session with my MKII and 10/22 takedown

Just bought a mark ii in stainless. 1989 production. I am going to thread the barrel. I have a suppressor waiting on a stamp. What length barrel do you guys suggest? Also any recommendations on who to have do the work?
