What is the story on the M11/P228?

Were they just marked P228 but issued as M11s or were the military ones marked M11?

Was the older M11s treated, etc.

When did the M11-A1for civilians come out and when did the military M11 go to 15 rounds?

I know, lots of questions, but am very curious on this subject.

I got tired of waiting for SIG to make an all stainless Diamond Plate model, so I made my own. It turned out so nice, I made a pair.
I've also added an SRT kit and Hogue G10 Piranhas to each one.

The military has not gone to 15 rd magazines for the M11.  The old M11 was a Sig P228.  The new issued M11 is a P229.  Both are 9mm and both use the same magazine.

The new M11-A1 is not a M11, but rather a marketing tool to sell it.  It does not use the P228 magazine.

Gonna try to scrape up some .45 this weekend so I dont have to shoot my "stash" Also got an almost brand new Colt Series 70 so time/ammo will have to be split equally.  I need to find a holster for the 220 as well, my 226 has a rail so no using the same one
