@Infidel4life11

Thanks for the Valor recommendation. Looks like my second valor build and another buddy’s gun were blued in the same batch as your latest. Had the opportunity to handle two valor M45s and they are on par with or exceed the quality of two other 2112-built M45s I’ve handled. He does some solid work with attention to detail rivaling the top names.

Mine showed up last weekend. Haven't had much time to really go through them yet though. With those showing up, I now have his entire collection. All signed too, except for one that I accidentally ordered a non-signed one.

Not sure if this is legit - it sure looks like it, but t appears Ken Hackathorn is having two Det-1 Kimbers sold on GB. I wonder what these will go for.

I didn’t realize there were still samples out there. Markings look right to me, but I am a newb.

New ones have a hump in the grip just above the medallion.  It's kind of a "rest" for your thumb.

Valor Precision. He's a great guy and has done two builds for me thus far (along with two others for some friends). I cannot recommend him enough based on what I've seen so far. More pics to follow...

Alright, so the above gun is actually a friend's. Below are some pictures of my gun and another friend's railed gun being refinished at PWS/worked on at Valor. The next four pictures are the final product followed by some other builds.

I almost changed out the safety and hammer, but those are sorta correct, so I left them as is.

HARSTAD, Norway - A U.S. Marine with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division fires downrange amid an immediate action drill during exercise Platinum Ren at Fort Trondennes, Harstad, Norway, May 13, 2019. Exercise Platinum Ren is a theater security cooperation training evolution held with the KJK to sustain mission essential tasks in harsh operating environments and strengthen coalition partnerships. The main technique the Marines executed was “buddy rushing,” a system where appointed Marines fire at the target, while other Marines rush in the designated direction. After reading this off and on for years, I decided to join. Started with a SA from GB. I ended up installing a Harrison Design front sight, because I don't know how to silver solder. I didn't know how to stake a front sight either, but I got 'er done. A Bar-sto barrel would have been nice too, but budget and I haven't done many barrel installs caused me to decide to keep the SA barrel.

Still needs to be re-parkerized or a matte blue. Kinda thinking about applying oxpho blue to the bare steel and shooting it as is. Not sure.

Not a 100% correct version. But I did it my way.

Thanks!  I think I overblended the GS for a military use sidearm. But I'm happy with how the whole thing turned out, as it was my first full radius job. I've decided to parkerize it myself.  Until this week I did not know there is a diy process.

Stumbled across this on GB.

Kind of a mixmaster, but thought someone who wanted to build the variant with the Operator slide might be interested:

That’s always the problem with the old builds. You can either make them have quarter-sized beavertail gaps and look authentic, or do a great fit and blend and have them look too good.

If you do the latter you can always buy an extra beavertail and drop it in after addressing the “trigger arm” thingy

Ok so I apologize for maybe not scouring this thread for an answer, but what is the typical barrel finish used for these MEUSOC guns?

Blued?

You cannot blue a stainless steel barrel. It's blacken stainless steel. Can be achieved using something like this:

Whoops, duh. Thanks.

I have carbon on the mind because I am trying to make some decisions on an unrelated build with a kart barrel.

Novak no longer lists them.

These things are getting harder to source parts for by the day. : (

Just out of stock.

https://www.novaksights.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1100713&CAT=9565

I was on the phone with them today and they happily addressed my questions regarding the slides I sent it. May be worth calling them if you have any questions about stock.

Yes, that was a typo on my part.

They only list the oversized model and not the standard.
