I'm pretty much walking, talking scar tissue but I can't make my thumb bend damn near 90 degrees backwards.

Thanks for the post. I’m a big fan of the MEUSOC and 1911’s in general. Is it true the colts have been fazed out for G19’s?

MARSOC did. I'd be interested to know what recon does now. I saw them carry 1911s when I was in.

We (Recon) still use the CQBP 1911.

Is there anywhere to get a flat serrated MSH with lanyard loop? Caspian doesn’t carry one anymore, and I’m finding smooth, arched, checkered, but not serrated.

That dude runnin full auto with the M4 has like practically zero movement during recoil.  That was impressive.

And I swear so many .mil guys I see them shooting with their trigger finger past the first joint.  Like they got it ALL the way in there.  (guy with Mk12 on the Helo).  Is there a specific reason or is it bad technique?    I guess it really doesn't matter where it is on the finger if you're getting the results you want.  Never shot from a Helo so maybe he's got his reasons......

Comfort and control with heavier milspec triggers. It's all about leverage.

I've gotten bad cramps in my hands before when having to lay down some heavy fire and had to adjust my finger positioning.

Just picked this used one up the other day and was able to put a couple hundred rounds through it. So far I am extremely happy with it. The trigger breaks at about 5# and is nice and crisp. Colt told me it was made in March 2014

With a few of my US Property 1911's.

Here's my MEUSOC-inspired Dan Wesson. It started off as a new Dan Wesson A2.
I added the following: Commander hammer, C&S Videcki trigger, checkered MSH w/lanyard loop, Pachmayrs and had the barrel finished in black carbon Titanium Nitride. I'm still undecided about the ambi safety. I pretty much gave up on trying to find a King's 201a, so I might go with KC's Custom Creations new version.

^ Thanks brother.

The barrel was done by Brazen Firearms out of Clinton, Ohio. It came out real nice and a short turnaround time.

It looks kind of shiny in my photo because of the coat of FP10 I put on there, but it is a carbon black matte finish in person.

^ Great photo. I'm tempted to throw on my old M16a1 rack number on my grips (was never issued a 1911 although they were still being issued when I was in, as well as the M21 sniper rifles)

The KC safety is great, I highly recommend it. Nice dan wesson, makes me wonder how easily a Valor can be turned into the late version M45 clone.

^ I don't think it would be too hard. But those straight eight sights might look a bit odd (if they still use them). Actually, I was thinking of adding FCS to my A2/MEUSOC tribute.

Sights are the biggest aesthetic issue for me. It would be pricey to make it a near exact replica, but for a look alike you could get creative and swap the sights, put a lanyard loop and ignore the lack of fcs.

Yes, sights are an easy fix. I know what you mean about pricey. I was originally going to put a older SA slide on it because I really wanted to do an early variant pistol, but I figured it was no point since I didn't have the correct frame, King's safety, sights ect. So, I just  decided to use my new Dan Wesson A2 and I'll probably throw on a set of the KC's Kustom ambi-safeties in the near future as the last step.

These were built at the USMC PWS shop a few years back and are as close as you can get to an issued MEUSOC pistol!  They are both 4th generation, Caspian framed pistols with Marine Corps serial number (the MC prefix).  The first pistol (MC1) has a Springfield 1911-A1 slide installed and the second pistol (MC766) has a Caspian slide installed.  MC766 also comes with a Springfield Operator slide that is serial numbered to the pistol (it's not in the pics below, but this extra slide also has it's own round count book).  Pretty cool having all 3 issued 4th gen slides with the 2 pistols!

I posted these pics early in 2017, but that was before photobucket shit the bucket on their users.  So, hope you guys don't mind the repost.....

Had a chance to see some of my previous projects. All seem to be running well despite my tinkering

NM Serial Loaded with C&S Marsoc Trigger Pull Set, Caspian MSH, Wilson Ambi Safety

N Serial Loaded with Greider trigger, EGW ball disconnector, Harrison true radius sear, C&S Tactical II hammer, Flat bottom firing pin stop, Ed Brown ambi S&A Serrated MSH. Awaiting a refinish and Novak dovetail front sight.

De-gunking and inspecting my M45

...In the works

Thank you for pointing that out I wasn't aware, its a great resource. In the Gen 3 section it says "Now the slide is Springfield Armory double serrated (forward slant)", does the term "double serrated" indicate it has serrations both to the rear and front of the slide like in the photo below?
