Local indoor range does a bowling pin shoot in the winter months. Among other things, I shot the Desert Eagle L5 in .357 as well as the S&W M25 in .45 Colt.
Three tables timed separately. Time stops when the last pin hits the floor. Best two tables count for score, which is good when you don't do so well on one. Lots of fun.  Bowling Pin Shoot - Desert Eagle L5 and S&W M25 |

I don’t know if our club had janky pins, but I brought a .50 DE with GDHP once and hit a couple of the pins in the head/neck area and it fucked them up real bad…
.44mag and .50ae really throws them off the table. .22LR is usually enough to knock them off the sawhorse. So I’d usually do a couple rounds with my carry gun and the rest with my 22LR. Sweeping them with a M-11/9 or 9mm M16 is super fun. |

I’ve participated in pin matches in UT, KS, and MI, and they all used this distance. Most regulation pins have a wood core, with soft pine being the most common. These seem to absorb the bullets pretty well. Used pins tend to develop a lot of “warts” just under the plastic casing. We have gotten some plastic core pins, which did cause a lot of bounce-back. We figured out which those were and culled them pretty quickly. |

Ya I did something like that about 20 years ago . Harder than I thought it would be . Sometimes the pin would just spin around .
Still interesting and fun . |
