I cleaned and lubricated a new LCP II 22lr and tested it for ammunition.

It ran best on CCI Standard Velocity 40 grain with no failures other than one light primer strike.

Aguila HP Supermaximum: light primer strike and multiple FTFs.
Aguila Interceptor: light primer strikes.
CCI Mini Mag: light primer strikes and FTEs.
CCI Copper 22: multiple FTFs.
Federal Punch: multiple FTFs and FTEs.
Federal Game Punch: light primer strikes.
Fioccchi Field Dynamics: one light primer strikes; one FTF and one FTE
Remington Target: light primer strikes.
Stinger Hyper Velocity: multiple FTFs.

I will send it to Galloway Precision to install their spring kit.

Update
Results after installing the Galloway spring kit and polishing the feed ramp:

Aguila Super Extra:
50 rounds, no failures

Aguila Super maximum HP:
30 rounds, no failures

Mini-Mag:
90 rounds, two light-primer strikes

Golden Bullet:
100 rounds, eight FTEs and two light-primer strikes

Federal Game Shok:
50 rounds, five FTEs, three light-primer strikes

Second Update
Aguila Super Extra:
90 rounds, one FTE

CCI Standard Velocity
100 rounds, two FTEs

Yeah not what I call satisfactory performance....

That might be throwing good money after bad. I don't think I'd ever have confidence again in a carry pistol that unreliable.

I have 3 of these and have only fed them Mini mags and Federal bulk pack. I’ve had zero malfunctions. I say shoot it more before spending money on after market stuff.

Out of the box, my LCP II was horrible. Couldn’t run a mag without a MALF.
Installed a Galloway kit and now it runs great.
It likes Mini-mags and Federal Punch.

Installed Galloway trigger and spring kit on mine and it runs great. CCI minimag is my go-to, but reliable with all sorts of high velocity ammo (1200-1300 fps).

Why didn’t you contact Ruger?
This reads like a GP ad.

I have 2 of them. Bought one when they first came out then another a few months ago. They had a few hiccups during the first several mags but have ran great since then. When I bought a threaded barrel it had a few jams again on the first mag then ran smooth after.

I like the trigger better stock. I didn't like the Galloway springs and changed them back to stock. They were lighter but had a very mushy feel to me.

They are just fun guns for me and maybe a trainer for the .380 version.

CCI Mini Mags have 'fixed' more rimfire guns than I care to count.  That, and actually lubing a rimfire gun.

Don't know why folks feel that a .22 does not need to be kept clean and lubed but lubrication helps.

My .380 LCP Max has been flawless, I'm holding out on the .22 version until I hear more favorable reviews on them.

I have never heard of “zero malfunctions” in any 22LR unless it really has not been shot much.  Federal bull pack is just not held to that high of a quality standard not to see an occasional light strike.

I had the same experience. The kit fixes the light strike issue.

Same. If nothing else, there's almost always a dud or two in every bulk pack.

Mine will basically not run win 555 or 333 bulk pack ammo at all. Light primer strikes on almost every round. However, It will run cci mini mags, thunderbolt, and federal bulk pack 100%.   I bought the Galloway spring kit but never installed it since it runs everything else reliably.  It’s my favorite pocket pistol.

Mine initially would not run anything reliably. Best was CCI Minimags at about 70%. I put in the Galloway kit and it has been almost perfect. CCI minimags have been perfect in it and the one type of ammo I had two FTF with was about 25 years old and did not fire in my S&W Model 18 either.

Get the Galloway kit.

I'd send it back to Ruger before sending it to Galloway- and I'd do the installation myself before sending it to Galloway, it's not that hard of a gun to work on (certainly not hard enough to spend the money for shipping or their labor fees).

Complete results following the Galloway spring-kit installation are in the original post.

The best results are with Aguila Super Extra (one FTE in 90 rounds) and CCI standard velocity (two FTEs in 100 rounds).
