Ruger Mk IV 22/45 Lite.  Lobos mount with Holosun 507c, Volquartsen trigger and action kit,  Tandemkross safety and Halo charging ring, TacSol comp.  This pistol was supposed to be my introduction to optics on a pistol.  It’s ended up being the only pistol that goes with me on EVERY range trip.

One of those on a Steel Challenge course sounds like real fun.

... or just with some steel in the back yard.

Painful admission time.

This is not the first 22/45 I have built up.  A long time ago I was shooting a TON of competition with my CZ Shadow. USPSA, IDPA, 3 Gun, Steel Challenge.  My (now ex) wife and I had been competitive shooters in Sporting Clays for a long time.  To try to give us something to do together again, I built her a Steel Challenge Mk III 22/45 with a 90 degree C-more and a full Volquartsen kit.  I only shot it a few times before the divorce.  It is the only gun she took that I actually miss.

Shooting 22 with a can is addicting.

Out of curiosity, what’s the benefit of the 90 degree mount?

With the C-More, you are able to get the center of the window closer to the slide.

Make your next 22 can the lightest can you can find.  The Oculus is almost 7 oz, try that against a 3 oz can and you'll see what I mean.  This comes from having a 6 oz mask and a 3 oz CGS Siren (carbon fiber). HUGE difference, otherwise my Mark IV 22 is also one of my most fun 22s.

As a comparison the Scythe (30 cal suppressor is 7.3 oz, the Warlock 22 suppressor is 3 oz.

"Better" for one guy isn't necessarily "better" for all. Lighter isn't always better. I've shot my 22/45 Lite with both the 6oz Mask and the 4oz E2 and I prefer the Mask. The Lite's are too light and need the extra weight IMO. That's why so many put muzzle brakes on the end of them (for the added weight).

What grips are those?! I’m waiting on my pistol to arrive and I’ve been collecting parts. I really like those grips.

Rugged Occulus approved yesterday. Picked it up and tried it this morning.  I have never had the opportunity to use a suppressor before.  First trigger pull and I thought I had not seated the mag to charge a round.  Then I pulled the trigger again and saw the action move.  Dang this is fun!

did 11months and it's worth the pain. I shoot in areas where full volume 22lr draws Karen's and I love not wearing ears. my moded mk4 is always close and the only time the can stays home is if I have to pass thru illannoy

Let her fiddle with the MkIII disassembly and reassembly, you have a MkIV now

That actually made me laugh out loud.  In 15 years of shooting together, I don’t think she ever learned how to field strip a single one of her firearms.

gotta admire a evil mind sir.

my first quality pistol was a mk1 standard 4.75inch and while pulling the mainspring was easy. it took awhile to learn the angle to get it back together.
so I made pull throughs of copper wire and bent bore brushes into L shapes to clean chamber as well as tooth brushes to clean boldface.

the genius who made the mk 4 deserves all but worship lol.
