I recently bought a Glock 42,I cleaned and lubed it thoroughly. Took it to the range and had nothing but problems. Failure to feed, failure to eject and slide not locking back after last round.
I took it home and disassembled slide I noticed that when I removed slide plate the extractor plunger came out in 2 pieces. I snapped it back together and reassembled.
Took the gun to range this weekend and still having same problem.
I came home and took the slide plate off again and the extractor plunger spring shot out leaving the depressor plunger still in slide.
Has this happened to anyone? Should I order a new extractor plunger assembly?
I really like the pistol and hoping I can fix.
Thx in advance!

love mine... I would send it back to Glock, they have a quick turn around and you will probably avoid wasted time effort and money

Ammo being used?

How did you lube it?

Picture of plunger in question.

Same ammo both trips?

The plunger is likely fine.

I used underwood +p,cci & fiocci ball ammo. I only lube the points per manual.
I’m just going to send to Glock but I changed the sights and added a polydat trigger shoe, will that void my warranty?
Thx for the help.

Send it to Glock

Never had a problem with my G42 but admittedly seldom use it anymore in favor of larger models.

send it back stock... other than sights take off any aftermarket parts... otherwise they will and not return them.

Well - I’ve got couple of thoughts.

1) you did something unintended changing out the trigger.   Or The front sight you changed is dragging.   Almost every single time it’s not the OEM set up.

Assumes - you didn’t over lube in cold conditions.

Also “potentially” - Mechanically you have somehow induced some extra drag.  (Added are you riding the slide stop up).

Solution let an armorer go thru the gun at a local GSSF match.  Or send it to Glock.

Or let someone else shoot it and watch.

2) dirty chamber.
