I'm torn between 13hrs and Act of Valor.

SPR and WWS get accolades but they're just not as "real" to me as the aforementioned.

According to GD the best military movie is Battleship

So many classic WW2 and modern movies it's hard to choose a favorite.

For newer movies - SPR, BHD, Battle Los Angeles.  13 Hours was a good movie, does it technically count as a military movie though?

Von Ryan's Express, which I saw when I was 10, 1965. Also Patton, which I saw when I was 15 or 16. Enjoyed them both very much.

Midway

Midway got me started in this whole history thing, led to so much enjoyment reading books, building models as a kid, airshows, historical firearms just everything.

I was spellbound as a small kid right from the start watching that opening B-25 scene from 30 Seconds Over Tokyo.. will always be a special movie to me

Too many to choose from, but one that is seldom mentioned is "In Harm's Way".

As for a TV series, "Victory At Sea".

I'll add:

We Were Soldiers Once (book is better)
Where Eagles Dare
Midway (the original)
The Pacific series (the book that Sledge wrote is one of the best I've ever read about war, just unreal)

I can't pick a favorite but A Bridge Too Far, Zulu, and Blackhawk Down are so freakin' good. Band of Brothers never gets old either.

Colour Sergeant Bourne : It's a miracle.

Lieutenant John Chard : If it's a miracle, Colour Sergeant, it's a short chamber Boxer Henry point 45 caliber miracle.

Colour Sergeant Bourne : And a bayonet, sir, with some guts behind.
