What photos have you taken looking out the window while flying, driving and so forth?

What things have pleasantly surprised you?  What things turned into abysmal failure?

Some photos from a recent trip...

I love aerial photography. I pretty much always get window seats for it, and the D850 + 14-24mm f/2.8 makes a fun combo. It does help that a lot if my flights get up to 37k on occasion. Btw the last is just a 100% crop in on the one above it of Wrangell, AK

The magnificence of this film.  I was just talking with a friend about how many times I've seen someone's photo of a climb, a mountain, cliff or icefall I may have never known existed before that moment, and said to myself, "I want to go climb that.  I am going to go climb that."  In sharp counterpoint to this visceral feeling, I was reading on a climbing forum the members crying over how the forum's voting algorithm was pushing unworthy climbs into the top 10 list ... and I'm just sitting there, lost, wondering why people are letting a damn computer tell them what to do.  I can't decide if it is funny, sad or tragic.

The way Renan ties this into Bradford Washburn is magnificent.  But really, it's the way all this stems from Bradford Washburn.

They got better photos of us than we got of them.

Looking down, seeing another party crossing over our rope, I put it into OD to get some separation from the other party, and to prevent any misconception with the helo.

That's going to be a gorgeous photo when viewed on anything other than the Arf photo hosting.

Most of the time, the view out of the Caravan is pretty nice.    Other days, not so much:

If the boots had not a fresh coat of icex on them (stuff that is applied to make the boots slippery so the ice breaks off when u inflate the boots), I wld not have survived this trip.

Thanks!  Yeah, the full resolution file is about 25mb shot on my Canon 5DsR.  It's stunning.

Some of these are just me by myself, and for some others, I had the luxury of letting another Arfcommer do the driving...

Having someone else driving makes things a lot easier.  If by myself, I set and lock the focus ahead of time.

Never took a pic because MKE.  But it looks a lot like Bagdad at night.

Amsterdam, Cuba, etc. not worth a pic pic because just another city/island. Hell, Kilimanjaro is just another hill.

This is Greenland if anyone cares.
