Long overdue to pull the trigger on a shot timer for the range.  Since I'll be testing some guns in the near future to help me decide which to buy. I'd like to grab a timer.

What is worth considering that will be fine for your average shooter?

Thanks!

Here's a few choices:

I have a CED7000 that works well for me.

People seem to like the new SG Timer GO.

A lot of people use a PACT timer.

I have an old CE, but wish I had one that could pick up dry fire clicks.
For matches having Bluetooth is really nice

I use the CED 7000 and PACT

The CED 7000 is nice since it is easy to compare your past strings of fire.  The Pact only does the last string.

I have had issues with the CED in the past, but the latest one seem to be reliable.

I've never used anything but a PACT.  After some years it started not picking up some shots.  I was about to replace it but first contacted a PACT company rep.  She told me how to change a setting and its been fine again now for several years.

I would avoid PACT because their customer service sucks balls.

I have had a CED since the early 90's and it is still solid... a few years ago I picked up a Commander. The new one is a little more involved to use, but will pickup dry fires. Availability was spotty due to supply issues when I bought mine, not sure if that has improved but it might be worth a look.

Commander's nice, but you'd better not be in a hurry to get it.

I have a Pact. It works well and I like it.

No experience with anything else, so take my opinion for what it's worth.

I've had a Pocket Pro for 9 or 10 years.  It does everything I could need it to do, plus the local USPSA clubs use these.

I have had a ced 7000 for years and it has been good. I am thinking my next one will be the kestrel though as it has nice screens, uses cr123a, and is water resistant.

I like my CED7000. It picks up dry fire and I use it with airsoft guns and suppressed stuff.

The Pact timers at most matches around here struggle with suppressed stuff. Especially when running subs.

CED7000 got my vote.

One complaint - They don't die.  While I've upgraded to the CED 7000 for running matches, the 20 yrs old CED 6000 is still beeping away

I have the Competition Electronics ProTimer. Only downside to me is it uses a 9v battery. I'd rather have AA or AAA battery powered.

By now I figured they'd have USB charging ports.

I love my Lab Commander but can't recommend them due to their inability to ship in a timely manner.

Kestral or shooters global are great. We use the kestrals at matches and I have had an SG for about a year.
SG has a newer one that's smaller and less expensive.
