I mostly read nonfiction but I read an interview with James Ellroy, so now I would like to read something of his, where is a good place to start.

Ellroy's a hoot!  He's also a kind of "experimental" writer and has a one of a kind unique voice.

Honestly I'd recommend The Underworld USA trilogy, the first book is "American Tabloid"

The second set I'd recommend is "The Black Dahlia" and the other 3 books in that LA Quartet series.

He's written non-fiction, short stories, magazine articles, etc.

Enjoy,
Hking
