It has plenty of power for the highway and will get you up to 85 pretty quickly but not so much power that you end up on one wheel at the twist of the throttle. The gearing could be improved. 6th gear and 5th gear are so similar that they should have left it a 5 speed instead of a 6. I kept trying to find one more gear when I was in 6th. |

Rally Raid is coming out with a "dirt" kit for the CB500X and if I get one I will likely outfit it that way. So it will be more of a dual sport use, so crazy power isn't a priority. I have been a fan for a looong time, I love the brand and think just about everything they have ever done is cool ( there have been some dogs, but very few) Monsters are cool, not a cruiser, not a standard, not a sport bike. They handle great and are nice to ride. They make great commuters and general hooligan bikes. Wouldn't be my first choice to tour on, but I know plenty who have set them up to tour and done significant miles on. Test ride different models, some people hate monsters |

That was my first time being at Barber that we weren't bussed in because of no parking. Have been to a few Indy and GT races but we were always hoofing it with a cooler. It was pretty neat to ride the bike through the gates. They don't keep info about track days on their site because it is hosted privately by Super Bike Track Time. There's a copper Tiger here locally that a guy is trying to sell - set up just perfect, suspension mods, Akro's, Sargent Seat, color matched GIVI panniers, touring windshield, and a nice dash/accessory set up, just ideal for touring but he's not coming off his price (yet). It's been for sale for about 6 months, and I dropped a couple offers. I'm hoping after a while he'll get the hint he's wanting too much and I'll snap it up. My WeeStrom is getting adventurized right now, and it'll make a great backroad bike, but for the pavement I want all that triple oomph, and I have always loved the looks of the Tiger. |
