This was taken last September at a walk for wounded soldiers. He's 3 years old and apparently a pure bred German Shepard but he tops out at 55lbs. That's me on the left and my wife walking him. One of the most gentle and obedient dogs I have ever had. And here he is posing with my new snowblower last fall.

Thats interesting that you say hes a pure bred and only 55lbs at full grown. I remember reading when GSDs were recognized as a breed about a hundred years ago the average size was about 50-70 lbs. throughout the generations they kept getting larger.

He's 11.5 lbs and 8wks old.

Smart little dude, and loves to cuddle. Follows me everywhere in the yard, although we have 2" of fresh snow, so he wants to be held. He was in a car for 9hrs yesterday, and was not ready to sleep much last night.

Good looking guy. I rescued (or my wife did rather) the little girl below, she is a blast. She is full grown and right at about 65 lbs. Pretty lean and on the small size but she is also apparently full GSD. She is a great dog, wish I could get her to understand that she will never be able to best her older brother though.

I suggest you go over to the http://www.germanshepherds.com/ and post on their puppy forums. Lots and lots of informed intelligent individuals who generally work with these dogs or are somehow involved. WIll probably find answers there no problem.
