Looking for an automatic lap count system that uses inexpensive transponders.

Prefer it can track about 100 unique racers, but 20 will work

Battery powered or non powered is a necessity

What’s out there that’s working for y’all?

Why waste money on all that when you can use scantily clad women?

Every circle track has them. Most loan the transponders free a few rent them..we carry the transponder right behind the rear axle.

Mini bikes

We have some smaller, shorter events that a system can also be used on, but the 24 hour enduro is where it’s really needed.  We had 60 team entries at the event last weekend; of those maybe 10 were serious contenders, but everyone likes to know how they did.

Mylaps is the gold standard, works with most all the transponders nowadays.

The industry standard.

Mylaps and Racehero combined. Unless you are running a full time profitable group of races, you'll find that complete systems with 100 or more transponders is going to be crazy expensive. My group rents the transponders for 20 bucks a race but they have a boatload of transponders, which are not cheap. Good hunting.

All the vintage race clubs allowed it wherever, at least a few years ago

Got a quick quote from Race Result for a weekend rental.
They’d make more money off the weekend than I do

I’m not expecting a breakthrough with the other company either, since a lack of published pricing usually tells me all I need to know.

GPS/cell systems are out, since service is sketchy.

I’ve used Lap Hero for my own sessions, and while it’s handy, I wouldn’t bet on it working right on a large scale, for 24 hours, especially running GPS continuously.

It didn’t look like Arduino based systems have really reached a point that there’s one that’s ready for a non-programmer.

It’s been a bit of a learning experience; one that I thought would be more fruitful. Seems like it’s still very much a specialty market without any reasonably priced options.

RFID. You can roll your own for cheap or buy one.
