Shot a series of images for an architectural product company, which I just found out is going into their next calendar.  They were happy enough with the images and the subject it's going on the front cover, the back cover, and somewhere in the middle.  Rarely do I get to see my images published, so I'm uploading this and about to go have a beer.

My view this morning, trying to get a shot for the Photo Challenge.  Didn't work out this time, and this one is a bit rough on the lighting and post, but thought I'd share anyways.  I've been trying to find this overlook for almost a year now, and thanks to Google Streetview hikers, I found the trail.  It's basically a cliff face that goes straight down to the water 400+ft.  I was shaking like a leaf trying to set up, lol.

Beautiful shot.  You use a flash on these, right?  How far away did you get it?

No flash on that one.

I was about 6 or so feet away. I used the 70-200 + a 2x for that shot, maxed the fuck out and I still had to crop the hell out of it. I had the sun to my back.

Nope, single image. It was over exposed a bit to bring up the shadows and I brought back the highlights in lightroom so, kinda?

Nothing speical, just another pair of birds.  We've had a 3-hen, 8 poult family group hanging around the yard past few months, but these two were part of a 4-bird flock not connected to the other group.  3 Toms.  Hope to be putting one of these guys in the bag when our fall season opens in a month.

D7100, 300 mm, 1/200, f/10, ISO200.

Oh, and the subject was only 731 feet away.

We're gonna need the backstory on that one.
