A requirement for Pennsylvania voters to put accurate handwritten dates on the outside envelopes of their mail-in ballots does not run afoul of a civil rights law, a federal appeals court panel said Wednesday, overturning a lower court ruling.
A divided 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled to uphold enforcement of the required date on return envelopes, a technical mandate that caused thousands of votes to be declared invalid in the 2022 election. It does seem like a frivilous reason to disqualify a ballot, but it's also not hard to write a date. Both sides should feel badly about it.
"In the 2022 general election, officials rejected more than 10,000 ballots because the voter did not handwrite a correct date on the return envelope, according to Pennsylvania's secretary of the commonwealth. Thousands of mail ballots are rejected each election due to minor voter errors, like so-called “naked ballots,” voters writing their birthdate instead of the current date, or voters forgetting to sign their ballot. In keeping with Governor Shapiro’s commitment to strengthening our democracy and keeping our elections safe and secure, Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt announced redesigned mail ballot materials that will be rolled out in the 2024 primary election. |

If events continue as they are, demoncrats will never lose power. It will have to be forcibly taken to save the country. That or give up. Too old for that crap.

After stealing the last election in plain sight with zero consequences, the rest from here on out will be a cakewalk for them.  Still going to vote, though, if for no other reason then to give myself a glimmer of hope however small it is.

If you want legal votes to be counted end mail-in voting. Ensure that people registered are legal US citizens during registration and use suitable photo ID measures verified by possibly two others before they get a ballot. Use paper ballots. No doubt there are other safeguards but our elections are no longer secure.
