The last thread was archived after 40+ pages so I figured I'd start up a new one.

I had a 2015 Tacoma that I was getting setup for overlanding but it went with the divorce.  Last fall I rented a Jeep Rubicon and did a bunch of trails out in the Ouray / Telluride area which got me fired up to build another rig.

I went looking for another vehicle but really needed something that I could also use to tow a ski boat on the highway long distances.  Finally decided the Tundra was the route I wanted to take.  After lots of looking I recently picked up a 2019 Tundra that I'm looking to setup for overlanding.  Lots of ideas and plans for this one.

The EE ram mounts are pretty nice.

I have taken my van places I probably shouldn't,  But it has done everything I asked of it.

Awesome. I'm working my rock sliders for the Ranger. Hope to have them done by July. Also need to work on a sealable but easy to remove lid for my airbox.

Slider mocked up (all that's left is mounting and painting):

Overlanding includes camping. Camping doesn't always include overlanding. Go ahead and be smug of it makes you feel validated.

I’m pretty sure that the first time I’ve ever read Tundra as a solution to towing long distances.

Tag for interest. If we decide to downsize from the 5th wheel I’ve though about setting up my 3500 AT4 into a rolling campsite.

Making some solid headway on my crawler/camper/overlander multipurpose rig. I generally hammock camp, but wanted to build something I could sleep in the back of with storage, onboard water, a fridge and a camp kitchen setup but with minimal fluff otherwise, that could also get shit done on the trail AND be able to drive long distances in relative comfort. There's not much Land Rover left at this point but so far specs are:

Cummins R2.8, GM 10-speed auto
Dynatrac Pro-Rock 60 rear
Dynatrac 44/60 hybrid front
35 spline ARB's F/R
37's
Linked F/R
12" travel Fox components
Lots of Baja Designs lighting

Finishing up the front end now, just need to finalize all my steering and panhard then it'll sit on its own weight. Just scored a crusty old Warn 8274 that I rebuilt and will be using in place of the XD9000 pictured.

It's just a ski boat.  Maybe 3500lbs or so.  The Tundra will make easy work of that.

Fuel 20s with falken wildpeak 275/55. They come out to a 32" setup, the same size as a Tundra.

I recently installed a Dobinsons 1.5" lift and Hawk LTS pads to firm up the brakes.
