The wife and I set up three hummingbird feeders at different windows on our home and I am surprised how much I like watching them. My wife works from home and has a feeder outside her office desk and watches them come and go most of they day, and the cats also love watching them too. Yesterday it was really high winds here and none of them were flying and there haven't been any here this morning. We have a lot of wildlife in our neighborhood including javelinas, coyotes, gray fox, cougars, roadrunners.

Not quite up to par with the guy on here who setup the duck box cams. I might try my high speed photo skills to see if I can capture them in flight.

They can put on quite a show.  Much more aggressive and territorial than you would think.

I saw one on Saturday, cleaned and filled up two feeders, but it's been raining constantly the last two days so they're not out flying.

I enjoy seeing them come by.

I must have had a dozen or so Anna's hummingbirds using my backyard feeders Jan-April.
Now there's only one.
This is partly due to migration and partly due to the desert bloom that's currently happening.
The birds have many more options for declaring a bountiful territory.

They are special and cute until they build a nest and shit 360 degrees at high pressure all over your property.

Have four feeders set up and usually have 4-6 hummingbirds stay all spring and summer.  Only seen one so far this year.  He flies around but doesn’t seem interested in feeding.  Wife is kind of bummed about it.

I'm looking at 3 on our feeders right now, surprisingly they're playing nice with each other and sharing!

if your wife works from home, what's the problem with not getting hummers or at least a handjob?  Sorry but you asked for it with the thread title.

I saw the first fight of the year a few days ago.  We have 3 feeders around the house, one is suctioncupped to the window that is about 1ft from the desk I work from all day long, so its really cool to watch them for usually over half a year.

Usually picks up when the cannas start blooming around here. Mid May until October. Have had a few, but not consistent.

Ours started making frequent visits yesterday. If we run out of sugar water, they will buzz the window until we fill it back up. We usually have 4 all spring & summer.

Ditto I was hoping for a thread about the monument to American opulence and historical curiosity known as the Hummer H1/H2 ,

not about some damn dime a dozen bird getting high off sugar like a toddler chugging a Coke.

Mine showed up 6-8 weeks ago then biblical rains started.
Going to put the feeders back out later this week. Hopefully they come back.

We were leaving King's Canyon NP in CA. We saw a little restaurant that had a pretty fast moving river behind it. The seating was outside next to the river. They had hummingbird feeders everywhere and there were literally hundreds of hummingbirds having lunch with us. It was amazing. Such cute little creatures. I've never seen so many at one time.
